This summer has been crazy. Let’s start with the most dramatic, I lost my job in April. In my defense it wasn’t my fault. The company reorganized and made the decision to get rid of the entire department where I was employed. Some of you may know I moved back to Atlanta last July feeling super excited and pumped for the new chapter and position, and now I felt like I was back at square one. However in usual fashion I was super stressed and God was working.
This time tested me, but my family was super supportive. God combined with my mom’s faith, sister’s love, and Dad’s encouragement reminded me that either I could cry and eat too much Chipotle (this happened, but not constantly) or I could dig in. I tried my best to use this time to work on some of my own projects, and now things are going better. I’m working contractually as a Creative Manager with Home Depot Corporate and AKC, LLC has been busy! Here’s what’s going on.
I am working as producer of What to Watch At the Movies, a weekly syndicated segment that caters to movie lovers. It features sneak peek movie clips, exclusive interviews, and behind the scenes footage.
I had the pleasure of working with Jermel Howard, star of thriller film, The First Purge. Through learning his brand and goals we were able to secure placements in; TV One’s Sister Circle, Plastiq Magazine, Dash Radio, Sheen Magazine and more.
I am currently in pre-production for my first scripted web-series, Checking off the List. It tells the story of a professional twenty-something who struggles to find the man she wants, so she throws away her “list” in hopes of finding the man she needs. There are parts of myself, my friends, and so much more in this story. It is executive produced by Michelle Daniel and will be available late summer/early fall on the Damn Network.
I’m excited for you guys to see the new content and can’t wait to hear your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to read and subscribe to my emails! If you or someone you know has a production, PR or entertainment need please shoot me an email at AskKirby.Carroll@gmail.com.
